Vacation: Part II
Day 3: After breakfast on the train we arrived at in train station in Sanford, FL.
After our van was unloaded we drove out to the Kennedy Space Center. Joanna enjoyed checking out what it would be like to be an astronaut.
She even got a little instruction about what the different buttons were for.
Joanna loved the space themed play area.
We went to see the "Mad Mission to Mars" where Joanna was selected as a volunteer. She is holding up Earth and Mars.
Joanna also got to meet a real astronaut. Here she is with Col. Richard Searfoss.

This was Joanna's second real astronaught. While in CA in August of 2005 we went to a book signing. Buzz Aldrin was signing his new children's book Reaching for the Moon.
It was very hot and it didn't take long before we had a tired and grumpy future astronaut. We decided to go find our room. Joanna had a nice nap in the car.
Our room was a condo that we got through Rick's parent's time share plan. THANKS!
It was quite large.
Besides the living room, dining room and kitchen, it had a really nice screened balcony.
Joanna had her own room.
This is the master bedroom
I really liked the master bath.
It even had laundry.
I wish I had those mega capacity machines at home! The spa tub would be nice too.
After settling in we went to the pool for a game of chess.
We had a great game going until a quick tropical storm rolled in. I think it was a first for all of us when our chess game had to be canceled because of rain.
We went back to the room and Joanna decided to check out the tub before bed.
Soon it was time for bed so we could be rested up for a day of Disney.
